Endodontic Microsurgery

In some cases it is not possible to save a tooth by performing traditional root canal treatment. This may be because there is a new crown present, or a post has been cemented into the root canal. In these situations, a different approach is needed. Using the latest advanced surgical techniques, our experienced team can perform what’s known as Endodontic Microsurgery in order to try and save the tooth.

Endodontic Microsurgery - Case Study 1

I recently had a new crown and post fitted on my upper molar. Unfortunately I then developed an acute painful abscess condition under the same tooth. I came to EndoCare and they carefully explained my condition and the decision I had to make. My first option was to have the tooth extracted and replaced with an implant or a bridge. The second option was to have the crown and post removed, followed by a normal root canal procedure. The final option was for Endodontic Microsurgery. Because I was so keen to keep my tooth and also keep my new crown if at all possible, I opted for Endodontic Microsurgery. Not only was this the cheapest option, but the treatment was completed in just a single visit! At my 6 month review my X-Ray shows that the abscess has completely healed, and my new crown still looks great!

Endodontic Microsurgery - Case Study 2

After my first root canal treatment failed, my dentist told me that it was not possible to save my tooth and that I was going to need a dental implant. I really didn’t want to lose my tooth unless absolutely necessary so went to see EndoCare for a consultation. Thanks to their years of experience treating complex cases such as mine, EndoCare was able to reduce the swelling on my gum and clean out the infection ready for my normal dentist to place a new crown. EndoCare didn’t just relieve my pain and infection but also saved my tooth!
